STUDY OF TORAH:
BASED ON TORAH
Let
the words of my mouth and the
meditation of my heart be
acceptable before You, O YHWH, my Rock, and my Redeemer. JPS
- 1917 translation
I
wonder why people don’t hear or see YHWH’s voice? I
think some of us just don’t want to. Because we did hear
it - not every word, because we tuned out whenever we heard
something that we didn’t want to, or saw ourselves pointed
out.
I
think most of us really believe that YHWH is, I just don’t
think we want to believe that we are headed for His
vengeance. And we refuse to believe YHWH’s Truth. The
Truth that’s been twisted by millions and foretold before
trillions. Too many false prophets and our own stiff necks
and lustful ways have made us forget and turn our backs to
the Almighty YHWH, the YHWH of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The
Rock that led his people through the wilderness and
established them as a Holy Nation - chosen. YHWH who allowed
the stranger who accepted and lived by His Law to dwell
amongst His chosen people. And the Almighty, Holy and
Jealous YHWH who established Law that has been entirely
abandoned by most.
Deut 4:32-35
(32) For ask now
of the days past, which were before you, since the day that
God created man upon the earth, and from the one end of
heaven unto the other, whether there has been any such thing
as this great thing is, or has been heard like it?
(33) Did ever a people hear the voice of God speaking out of
the midst of the fire, as you hast heard, and live?
(34) Or has God assayed to go and take Him a nation from the
midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by
wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an
outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all
that YHWH your God did for you in Egypt before your
eyes?
(35) Unto you it was shown, that you mightiest know that
YHWH, He is God; there is none else beside Him.
Deut 7:12
(12) And it shall come
to pass, because you hearken to these ordinances, and keep,
and do them, that YHWH your God shall keep with you the
covenant and the mercy which He swore unto your fathers
Deut 8:19
(19) And it shall be, if
you shall forget YHWH your God, and walk after other gods,
and serve them, and worship them, I forewarn you this day
that you shall surely perish.
The
Terrible YHWH who has foretold the blessings and curses
directly in response to the keeping of His statutes and
commandments.
Deut
28:1-14
(1) And it shall come to pass, if
you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of YHWH your
God, to observe to do all His commandments which I command
you this day, that YHWH your God will set you on high above
all the nations of the earth.
(2) And all these blessings shall
come upon you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto
the voice of YHWH your God.
(3) Blessed shall you be in the
city, and blessed shall you be in the field.
(4) Blessed shall be the fruit of
your body, and the fruit of your land, and the fruit of your
cattle, the increase of your cattle, and the young of your
flock.
(5) Blessed shall be your basket
and your kneading-trough. (
6) Blessed shall you be when you
come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
(7) YHWH will cause your enemies
that rise up against you to be smitten before you; they
shall come out against you one way, and shall flee before
you seven ways.
(8) YHWH will command the blessing
with you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand
unto; and He will bless you in the land which YHWH your God
gives you.
(9) YHWH will establish you for a
holy people unto Himself, as He has sworn unto you; if you
shall keep the commandments of YHWH your God, and walk in
His ways.
(10) And all the peoples of the
earth shall see that the name of YHWH is called upon you;
and they shall be afraid of you.
(11) And YHWH will make you
over-abundant for good, in the fruit of your body, and in
the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your land, in
the land which YHWH swore unto your fathers to give
you.
(12) YHWH will open unto you His
good treasure the heaven to give the rain of your land in
its season, and to bless all the work of your hand; and you
shall lend unto many nations, but you shall not
borrow.
(13) And YHWH will make you the
head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you
shall not be beneath; if you shall hearken unto the
commandments of YHWH your God, which I command you this day,
to observe and to do them;
(14) and shall not turn aside from
any of the words which I command you this day, to the right
hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
Deut
28:15
(15) But it shall come to pass, if
you wilt not hearken unto the voice of YHWH your God, to
observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I
command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon
you, and overtake you
Deut
28:58-68
(58) If you will not observe to do
all the words of this law that are written in this book,
that you may fear this glorious and awful Name, YHWH your
God;
(59) then YHWH will make your
plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great
plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and
of long continuance.
(60) And He will bring back upon
you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were in dread of;
and they shall cling to you.
(61) Also every sickness, and every
plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them
will YHWH bring upon you, until you be destroyed.
(62) And you shall be left few in
number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for
multitude; because you did not hearken unto the voice of
YHWH your God.
(63) And it shall come to pass,
that as YHWH rejoiced over you to do you good, and to
multiply you; so YHWH will rejoice over you to cause you to
perish, and to destroy you; and you shall be plucked from
off the land whither you go in to possess it.
(64) And YHWH shall scatter you
among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even unto
the other end of the earth; and there you shall serve other
gods, which you have not known, you nor your fathers, even
wood and stone.
(65) And among these nations shall
you have no repose, and there shall be no rest for the sole
of your foot; but YHWH shall give you there a trembling
heart, and failing of eyes, and languishing of soul.
(66) And your life shall hang in
doubt before you; and you shall fear night and day, and
shall have no assurance of your life.
(67) In the morning you shall say:
'Would it were even!' and at even you shall say: 'Would it
were morning!' for the fear of your heart which you shall
fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall
see.
(68) And YHWH shall bring you back
into Egypt in ships, by the way whereof I said unto you:
'Thou shall see it no more again'; and there you shall sell
yourselves unto your enemies for bondmen and for bondwoman,
and no man shall buy you
Forever, sworn by
YHWH.
Let’s beg
forgiveness and ask ourselves if we have done that which has
been commanded us.
Genesis 1:1
through Deuteronomy 34:12
Let’s beg
forgiveness and teach our children.
Deut 30:1-8
(1) And it shall come
to pass, when all these things are come upon you, the
blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you
shall think to yourself among all the nations, where YHWH
your God has driven you,
(2) and shall return unto YHWH
your God, and hearken to His voice according to all that I
command you this day, you and your children, with all your
heart, and with all your soul;
(3) that then YHWH your God will
turn your captivity, and have compassion upon you, and will
return and gather you from all the peoples, whither YHWH
your God has scattered you.
(4) If any of yours that are
dispersed be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there
will YHWH your God gather you, and from there will He fetch
you.
5) And YHWH your God will bring
you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you
shall possess it; and He will do you good, and multiply you
above your fathers.
(6) And YHWH your God will
circumcise your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love
YHWH your God with all your heart, and with all your soul,
that you may live.
(7) And YHWH your God will put
all these curses upon your enemies, and on them that hate
you, that persecuted you.
(8) And you shall return and
hearken to the voice of YHWH, and do all His commandments
which I command you this day
Let’s acclaim His
people as we are told.
Deut 32:43
(43) Sing aloud, O you nations, of
His people; for He does avenge the blood of His servants,
and does render vengeance to His adversaries, and does make
expiation for the land of His people.
Deut
30:11-14
(11) For this commandment which I
command you this day, it is not too hard for you, neither is
it far off.
(12) It is not in heaven, that you
should say: 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it
unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it?'
(13) Neither is it beyond the sea,
that you should say: 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and
bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do
it?'
(14) But the word is very nigh unto
you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it.
Ex
4:22
(22) And you shall say unto
Pharaoh: Thus says YHWH: Israel is My son, My first-born.
Lev
26:40-45
(40) And they shall confess their
iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their
treachery which they committed against Me, and also that
they have walked contrary unto Me. (
41) I also will walk contrary unto
them, and bring them into the land of their enemies; if then
perchance their uncircumcised heart be humbled, and they
then be paid the punishment of their iniquity; (
42) then will I remember My
covenant with Jacob, and also My covenant with Isaac, and
also My covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will
remember the land. (
43) For the land shall lie forsaken
without them, and shall be paid her sabbaths, while she lies
desolate without them; and they shall be paid the punishment
of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected Mine
ordinances, and their soul abhorred My statutes.
(44) And yet for all that, when
they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject
them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly,
and to break My covenant with them; for I am YHWH their
God.
(45) But I will for their sakes
remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought
forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations,
that I might be their God: I am YHWH.
Psalm 19:7-14
(7) His going forth is from the end
of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it; and
there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
(8) The law of YHWH is perfect,
restoring the soul; the testimony of YHWH is sure, making
wise the simple.
(9) The precepts of YHWH are right,
rejoicing the heart; the commandment of YHWH is pure,
enlightening the eyes.
(10) The fear of YHWH is clean,
enduring for ever; the ordinances of YHWH are true, they are
righteous altogether;
(11) More to be desired are they
than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey
and the honeycomb.
(12) Moreover by them is Your
servant warned; in keeping of them there is great
reward.
(13) Who can discern his errors?
Clear Thou me from hidden faults.
(14) Keep back Your servant also
from presumptuous sins, that they may not have dominion over
me; then shall I be faultless, and I shall be clear from
great transgressio
Let’s return to
our true King, YHWH.
I Sam 8:1-19
(1) And it came to pass, when
Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over
Israel.
(2) Now the name of his first-born
was Joel; and the name of his second, Abijah; they were
judges in Beer-sheba.
(3) And his sons walked not in his
ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and
perverted justice.
(4) Then all the elders of Israel
gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto
Ramah.
(5) And they said unto him:
'Behold, thou art old, and your sons walk not in your ways;
now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.'
(6) But the thing displeased
Samuel, when they said: 'Give us a king to judge us.' And
Samuel prayed unto YHWH.
(7) And YHWH said unto Samuel:
'Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say
unto you; for they have not rejected you, but they have
rejected Me, that I should not be king over them.
(8) According to all the works
which they have done since the day that I brought them up
out of Egypt even unto this day, in that they have forsaken
Me, and served other gods, so do they also unto you.
(9) Now therefore hearken unto
their voice; howbeit you shall earnestly forewarn them, and
shall declare unto them the manner of the king that shall
reign over them.'
(10) And Samuel told all the words
of YHWH unto the people that asked of him a king.
(11) And he said: 'This will be the
manner of the king that shall reign over you: he will take
your sons, and appoint them unto him, for his chariots, and
to be his horsemen; and they shall run before his
chariots.
(12) And he will appoint them unto
him for captains of thousands, and captains of fifties; and
to plow his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his
instruments of war, and the instruments of his
chariots.
(13) And he will take your
daughters to be perfumers, and to be cooks, and to be
bakers.
(14) And he will take your fields,
and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of
them, and give them to his servants.
(15) And he will take the tenth of
your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers,
and to his servants.
(16) And he will take your
men-servants, and your maid-servants, and your goodliest
young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
(17) He will take the tenth of your
flocks; and you shall be his servants.
(18) And you shall cry out in that
day because of your king whom you shall have chosen you; and
YHWH will not answer you in that day.'
